IPL (Intensive Pulsed Light), known as one of the most effective methods among leading beauty clinics to permanently prevent hair regrowth. AYLIMA has adapted the light-based technology for safe, effective and simple treatment in your home.

IPL applies soft light impulses to the skin that is absorbed by the hair root. The darker the hair, the better the light impulses are absorbed.

IPL stimulates the hair follicles to enter the dormant phase. As a consequence, the hair is split naturally, the return is prevented and your skin is left silky smooth.

The effectiveness depends on the melanin content of your hair. White, gray and red hair do not contain enough melanin for IPL to work. IPL also needs a low melanin content in the skin, so the skin does not attract light but the hair. Dark skin tones therefore have a greater tendency to absorb the intensely pulsating light, which can burn the skin.

The hair growth cycle consists of different phases. IPL is effective on hair in the growth phase. Not all hairs are in the growth phase at the same time. Therefore, we recommend a 12-week treatment schedule to ensure that all desired hairs are effectively treated during their growth phase.

IPL treatment is not effective if you have light blonde, red or gray hair. They do not absorb enough light. Below you can see which hair colors IPL is suitable and effective to treat with.

The light intensity can also be translated as level or intensity. AYLIMA IPL KORA has 6 different light intensities depending on your skin tone and which light intensity level you feel comfortable treating with. To adjust the light intensity, press the ON / OFF button until you reach the desired intensity.

Perform a skin test to determine the appropriate light intensity setting. Reduce the intensity if you experience discomfort. If you have recently sunbathed, do a skin test to determine the correct setting. The device automatically performs a skin tone analysis and "ready to treat" lights up pink to indicate if you can continue with the treatment.

When using AYLIMA IPL KORA for the first time or after you have recently sunbathed, perform a skin test on a surface you intend to treat with IPL. The skin test is necessary to check the reaction of your skin for a treatment and determine the correct light intensity (intensity) for each body surface.

1. Select an area close to the one you intend to treat.
2. Hold down the ON / OFF button for three seconds to start the machine and make sure you have selected the power 1.
3. Hold the appliance directly against the skin so that the light-emitting window has direct contact with the skin.
4. Press the light flash button to release a light flash.
5. Slide the device over the skin to the surface to be treated.
6. Increase the intensity with one strength at a time. Repeat this for all levels within the recommended schedule for your skin tone.
7. After the skin test, wait for 2 hours and check your skin if you have any reaction. If your skin does not show any reaction (redness, stinging or burning sensation), you can use your IPL device on the skin areas you intend to treat.

When the light is orange, your skin tone is not suitable for the selected intensity. You have probably chosen a strength that does not suit your skin tone. In this case, the device is automatically deactivated. You can try using the device on another area of skin.

Cleaning and shaving. Pre-treat the areas you intend to treat. Cleanse the skin and make sure it is free of hair, dry and free of oils.

Use after waxing. If you choose to wax, wait 24 hours before starting treatment with IPL to let your skin rest. We recommend that you take a shower before treatment to ensure that any wax residue has been removed from the skin.

Face 1 minute
Armhole 1 minute
Forearm 2 minutes
Bikini line 4 minutes
Lower leg 8 minutes
Thighs and lower legs 14 minutes

For the first four to eight treatments, we recommend that you use the device once every two weeks to ensure that all hairs are treated. However, a maximum of once a week.

After the initial treatment phase 4-8 treatments, we recommend maintenance treatment every 4-8-12 weeks when you see that the hairs start to grow back. This is to maintain the results and enjoy silky smooth skin for several months. The time between treatments can vary depending on your individual hair growth and across different body areas.

Recommended weeks and number of treatments vary depending on skin tone and hair color.

Your skin may show slight redness, tingling and / or feeling hot. This reaction is completely harmless and disappears quickly. Dry skin and itching may occur due to shaving or a combination of shaving and light treatment. You can cool the area with ice or a wet cold cloth. If dryness persists, you can apply a fragrance-free moisturizer to the treated area 24 hours after treatment.

After treatment, it is safe to apply lotion, deodorant, moisturizer or cosmetics on the treated area. If you experience skin irritation or redness of the skin after the treatment, wait until it disappears before applying any product to your skin.

Reduction in hair density should be visible. Continue treatment with frequent maintenance treatments every four, eight and twelve weeks to maintain the desired result.

Deliberately exposing your skin to natural or artificial sunlight in order to develop a tan affects the skin's sensitivity and color. Therefore, the following is important. Wait at least 48 hours before sunbathing after each treatment. Even after 48 hours, make sure that the treated skin does not show any redness.

If you expose your skin to the sun (without sunbathing intentionally) for 48 hours after the treatment, use sunscreen SPF50 + on the treated areas. After this period, you can use SPF30 + for two weeks. After sunbathing, pay attention to your skin so that you have not burned yourself. Perform a skin test to determine light intensity setting. Do not use IPL on tanned body areas.

If you have used an artificial sunscreen for example (brown without sun) wait until the artificial tan has disappeared before treating with IPL.

Temporary and indirect sun exposure does not qualify as sunbathing.
